Wow! I went into the Practicum thinking I didn't need to learn anything. I walked out realizing I have so much to learn. Leigh inspired me with her love of learning and her heart to help our children learn classically. She is so passionate about the classical model and when she spoke at the practicum I just felt her heart speaking to me. She helped simplify my homeschooling schedule and gave me joy just looking into the future at what my children will get to experience with Classical Conversations. This years Parent Practicum was excellent! I feel so privledged to have heard Leigh speak in person. She re-inspired me to be my children's educator. Home schooling parents need regular confirmation they are doing what is best for their children and inspiration to continue the daily struggles that will grow our children into the adults God created them to be. Leigh's sessions did all of that and she gave wonderful tips on teaching each subject. This is our second year to teach the "Classical" way and we look forward to many unbeleivable years to come. For our kids to "turn out OK" is not an option! In order to make a difference they must be exceptional! Mark and Amy Maley

I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the Parent Practicum in Greenville, SC. I am starting Foundations for the first time with my two first-graders. I came into the practicum on Monday with a lot of fear and apprehension about teaching math to my children, especially in the upper grades. You inspired me to want to learn math and to do my best to teach my children. The practicum was very helpful to me. I especially appreciated your personal stories about your own family and your homeschooling journey. Thank you for sharing your insights and your approach to studying math.

2007 Parent Practicum Season

I just wanted to put a plug in for Classical Conversations parent practicums. I had the opportunity to attend the practicum she held in South Carolina this week, and it was fantastic! It is well worth the time, the driving and the money it costs to either put your child in the camp offered during the practicum or find a babysitter. The parent portion is free, which is unbelievable considering what I learned!!!

If you've heard Leigh speak before, you know that she has an amazing vision for Christ-centered education. Hearing her for three days opened my mind to a whole new level of thinking about teaching my kids. I learned a ton of practical tips about teaching languages, math and writing, and I came away feeling greatly encouraged and pumped up for the new school year!
