Shelly Stockton

Midwest State Manager

SStockton@ClassicalConversations.com

Shelly has been married to her husband Greg for 20 years and they currently live in Virginia with their 5 beautiful daughters, ages 7 through 15. Originally from the Midwest, Shelly graduated from Emporia State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. Teaching, composing and leading worship at her church has been a part of Shelly’s life for the past several years. Upon having their first child, Greg and Shelly knew God was calling them to home school and Shelly made the leap of faith, quit her teaching job at the public school, and “came home” for good. She often says of homeschooling, “the pay is terrible, but the benefits are great!’

After hearing Leigh speak at Patrick Henry College in Purceyville, VA five years ago, Shelly knew Classical Conversations would prove influential in equipping her to pursue a high standard of excellence with her girls’ education. She was especially drawn toward the focus on God as creator of all things and the purpose of education “to know God and make Him known.” Shelly writes, “Proverbs chapter 2 is such an encouragement to me. Verse 6 quotes,’For the Lord gives wisdom, and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.’ What an awesome thing to partner with God in educating our children for His purposes!”

She currently directs a Challenge A program in her local CC community and is the Midwest State Manager for newly developing states in the central region of the country. “I have met some wonderful, godly mentors in homeschooling who have modeled excellence in education for many years. Watching them consistently pursue a high standard of education for their children and reap the wonderful fruit as a result has encouraged me beyond measure. I count it a privilege to rub elbows with them week after week in our Classical Conversations communities.”
